Psychedelic Integration Therapy
With exponential growth in the number of trials, studies, and research into psychedelics, there is growing acceptance that widespread psychedelic therapeutic access could soon be a reality. As psychedelics gain more attention in therapeutic settings, integration is seen as a necessary step in maximizing the positive outcomes. Clinical research has shown promising results for treating conditions like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction when psychedelics are used with proper integration support. The rise in interest has led to specialized therapists focusing on the pre- and post-experience phases.

After having lived in Central and South America for more than a decade, experiencing the benefits of psychedelic therapy firsthand, and gaining a thorough understanding of the traditional medicinal use of psychedelics in the intended cultural context, I am well-suited to help individuals navigate their unique and profound experiences through psychedelic integration therapy. As I complete my Post Grad at Exeter University in England, I am one of only a handful of therapists in Canada qualified and experienced in this area.
Psychedelic Integration Therapy is aimed at helping individuals process and make sense of their journey with psychedelics, both positive and negative, be it psilocybin, ayahuasca, MDMA, LSD, or similar compounds. Integration is an essential phase for the overall healing process. It helps people apply insights gained from these non-ordinary states of consciousness in impactful and sustainable ways. Psychedelic psychotherapy may create experiences such as profound emotional or psychological insights that require a structured space to reflect on these experiences and to identify key themes and emotions from the experience. Psychedelics are often used for trauma healing, meaning repressed memories may surface and overwhelm may occur. Therapy assists in cultivating the appropriate mindset to approach the experience with willingness and openness and further provides a safe environment to explore newly developed feelings while implementing practical changes to improve mental health. Alternatively, psychedelics may lead to existential or spiritual questions. Integration therapy is beneficial for exploring questions surrounding our purpose and connection to life. While psychedelic psychotherapy regularly provides profound healing, without integration, the benefits may fade or be difficult to apply. Integration helps prepare the client for their respective psychedelic journeys and what outcomes they hope to achieve. It later assists in sustaining insights, reducing confusion, and empowering ongoing trauma healing while turning ephemeral insights into lasting change. It is my goal to educate the public on the benefits and safe practices of psychedelic healing.
